Cut a cross in the top of the sprouts with a sharp knife.
Boil a pot of water and place sprouts in there. Do not over boil, as sprouts will become soggy. The sprouts need to be undercooked a little if reheating later. They should keep their bright green color to ensure they are not overcooked.
In a pan melt some butter at a very low temperature. Chop one or two cloves of garlic and brown slightly in the pan wih the hot butter.
Remove from heat.
Strain the brussel sprouts. Add the sprouts to the butter /garlic mixture. You can add bacon pieces for added flavor and to make this dish more savory.
Serve immediately or let cool and cover. To reheat, place in a 325 degree oven fifteen minutes prior to serving.
